The canvas is the yellow area we find in the middle of the screen when we open a new design.
The canvas represents the knitting area. The white frame around it marks the limits of the workspace, and the grey area around it is unusable.
When zooming in we discover it’s formed by front stitches. Each one of the loops in display represents one stitch. The default canvas is 64 stitches wide by 153 rows high. You will learn how to edit the canvas’ dimensions and other specifications further forward in this manual.
By default, it is set to Pattern view, so the yellow color we see corresponds to the yarn feeder assigned (3).
We can switch to Stitch view mode to visualize the colors of the stitch symbols.
