Left-side Tools

 1. Editing tools

• Move tool: (Shortcut > M) Click and drag to move the canvas in any direction.

• Selection tool: (Shortcut > S) Click on a square to select a stitch. Click and drag on the canvas to select an area. Resize the selection by hovering over an edge or corner until it turns white, then click and drag. The tool will not create a new selection if another area is already selected. Deselect at any time by pressing the Space bar.

  When an area or stitch is selected, the toolbar at the bottom of the screen shows how many rows and stitches are selected.

• Drawing tools:

  • Pencil (Shortcut > P while Free edit is active)
  • Line (Shortcut > L while Free edit is active)
  • Rectangle (Shortcut > R while Free edit is active)

  Click and drag to paint a selected stitch symbol on the canvas. The drawing tools appear disabled by default and only work when Free edit is active (see below).

• Free edit: Enables drawing, copy/paste, and parameter editing in the Options column. (Shortcut: > F)

 2. Stitch Palette

Shows Knit Front by default when opening a file. Click to open the stitch palette and select a symbol. The last three used stitch symbols remain visible for quick access.

Always click the symbol at the top to open and close the palette.

The palette shows stitch symbols on its upper part and transfer symbols on the lower part.

Besides having distinctive colors and symbols, each square shows us information about where the action is happening. Let’s imagine a horizontal line dividing the square into two halves:

The upper half represents the action in the rear needle bed. In this case, none.

The lower half represents the action in the front needle bed. In this case, “Knit”.

In the case of transfers, an arrow pointing up refers to a front-to-rear movement, and an arrow pointing down to a rear-to-front transfer.

3. Yarn Palette

Yarn Feeders / Colour Palette: Click the numbers to customize the colours to match your yarns.
