Yarn feeders causing kick backs
I am trying to create a pattern which starts small and then increases in width however I am finding that the software has to create lots of kicks to move the waste yarn and draw string feeder out of the way which not only slows the knit down but also causes some issues with transfers etc.
Does anyone know how to move a feeder without knitting it so I can move it back to the left and knit without the kicks.
I think related to this, does anyone know what the number in the direction setting means on the software? I couldn't find any documentation about it.
Thanks
Laurence

Laurence Answering your last question, 0 = left to right; 1 = right to left; 2 = any direction.

Hi Laurence,
We are aware that knitting is not so efficient with the generation of so many moves and kickbacks. We are working on this to be improved in a future update. At this moment there is not much we can do about it, it is the way the compiler "thinks".
Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for clarifying OJ and Ariadna Pons

Hi
You can use the MISS stitch to move the feeders out of the way and that will reduce the number of kickbacks that are occurring

Hi Asidert,
as Olgalyn wrote above, 0 = left to right; 1 = right to left; 2 = any direction.

Robert Ingemarsson That is excellent advice. Thank you!

Yes great idea. I will definitely try this out

Knitting might not be as efficient as it used to be since there are so many moves and kickbacks involved. This is being worked on for a future update so that it can be improved. This is something we cannot control at the moment, it is a function of the way the compiler thinks about things.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Understood! Robert Ingemarsson of using missed stitches was a great idea and really helped get the feeders out the way.
