The Kniterate software automatically creates a draw-thread start when you add the start module. The draw-thread creates a clean and finished starting edge, and all you need to do is release the waste yarn from the main knit by pulling out the draw-thread.
Simply take the longer end of the draw-thread and gently pull it out of your fabric. To prevent the fabric from accumulating, it's easier to pull while pressing down on the knit to keep it flat. Cut the remaining ends of yarn about 5 centimetres / 2 inch and tuck them in using a latch hook. Cutting ends shorted can cause your knit to unravel.
