Chinese Batch
Does anyone have a machine from the chinese batch that's working perfectly. Would be reassuring if it does, since I can't get anything out of ours...

I have a Kniterate that was manufactured in China. It knits perfectly, when I load a valid file with proper settings and supply the right yarn.

We have a Kniterate that was manufactured in China. It also knits perfectly when provided with the correct design which matches the yarn being used.
We have knitted more than 500 garments this year on our machine.

Marco Meijer what issues are you having?

thanks, both. Your reassurance that the machine is ok is a perfect new starting point for the new year.
Just after this message I decided to knit Machine_Sample_25oct20. Actually I was convinced that there was something wrong with the machine, so I didn't dare to knit this full speed, full bed sample if a low speed small sample didn't work at all.
We have had the machine for over a year. 3 people gave up on working with it, including a knitting pro. I carefully followed the steps in Olgalyn's tutorials, checking all the machine parts. Failure upon failure made me decide there must be something wrong with the machine. Then just last week I decided to do the opposite and prepared the machine to knit Machine_Sample_25oct20. And it worked! So my plan of attack now is to analyse Machine_Sample_25oct20 and work from there. Does it also knit on the other feeders? Is there any possibility to load Machine_Sample_25oct20 in the software, through a buck file perhaps?
I work with a safe nM 7 wool, advised by Gerard.Well, thanks for your answer, and I'll probably get back to you.

Marco Meijer Glad to hear you were able to knit the machine sample! Unfortunately there isn't a way at this time to read the kc file in the design app.
Have you tried knitting the beanie located in the Kniterate design app files folder? It's a buck file, so you can easily view the settings in the design app. Remember these settings are for NM 3.5 yarn, so you would need to double up your NM 7. (I successfully knitted the beanie with NM 4, but it's best not to change the yarn weight substantially unless you plan on changing several settings.) If you have trouble, be sure to post your specific issue here.
If you continue to have trouble knitting the examples in my course, be sure to post your question in the comments in the related section. You may need to adjust settings. Be as specific as possible. Did stitches drop? Did you get an error? Did yarn break? Sometimes just a tiny adjustment will make all the difference.0 -
Hi
Great to hear you have successfully knitted now which proves the machine works.
What are you looking to do with the machine, and maybe we can help point you in the right direction to get you up and running with your vision, rather than just knitting the existing .kc files?

Are there any people out there who have been able to get a machine from the Chinese batch to work perfectly? As it is currently not possible for me to retrieve anything from ours, it would be reassuring if it did...
