Are you after a cut and sew garment, or a fully shaped garment?   If you can give more details, and maybe upload pictures of the cardigan, then maybe some of the experienced knitters would like to comment , and then take on the project. Also, what yarns are you looking to knit with as they kniterate needs to use nm 6-8 yarns...

Hello Tim, here are pictures of the cardigan.
Do you think it is possible to make a reproduction with Kniterate ?
I made the pattern on photoshop with little differences.

    Best regards,

    Alexandre

Thanks for the images - OJ what are your thoughts on replicating this?

And I think it's better to have a cut and sewn garment that's why I just need to have some fabric with the pattern knitted in and I will assembly the parts myself.

Makes sense and much easier that shaping on the machine.

I believe I'm seeing 7 colors per row in some areas. Is that correct? Kniterate has 6 feeders so can handle only 6 colors per row.

Yes there is 7 colors, we can remove the white if needed !

I am afraid this would Not be something for us to do as we do t have templates for jumpers yet - something we are looking at for this winter .

In this case I just need the knited fabric and then I will assembly the parts myself  !

Hi Alexandre Rousseau just checking you own the design rights and copyright for this piece? It's completely illegal to copy someone else's design and then sell it (so unless this is for personal use I'd be very careful). Legally you need to make at least 5 changes but even then it's quite unethical. In the UK designs are protected by both copyright and registered / unregistered design rights.

Hello, no I don't own the rights of the design that's why I made my version on photoshop, it's not the actual design; and yes the cardigan is only for me :)

I just need to order a sufficient amount of fabric to make only one cardigan

it will be interesting to see how this turns out. I guess on 6 colours one would need to use 2/28s for the 5 colours and for the ribs and neckband 2/28 used double to acheive a firmer rib. We could do with a porject like this for a knit along jacquard for cut and sew....

Hello @Antony Adelaye, thank you for reaching me out!

I think I can purchase the ribbed  fabric  separately (and I don't mind if it's not the exact same color) because there is 7 colors (which is not possible with Kniterate so we can remove the white).

The problem is that if the ribbed parts are made with kniterate we would be forced to take out a color from the pattern again

2/28 won't be suitable for a kniterate machine - it would need to be 2/14 or 2/16 for it to work on a kniterate machine or you could double up the 2/28 to achieve a nm 7.

We have knitted 5 colours before for a client for their scarves - (ecoknitware.com/projects/adapt-protest-scarves) so its definitely possible :)

We may be able to help but would not be until the spring now due to winter demand..

there are knit and n demand companies in China but you would have to follow their template for the shape which you may not want to do.

Do you have the exact pattern available including sizes that you can share so we can look.

What price are you looking to pay for this?

Hello @Robert Ingemarsson thank you for your interest !
I can wait till the spring, I don't have finished the pattern yet because I'm not sure that it can be done but as soon as I get the green light from someone I will finish it! I just need the knitted fabric, not the whole cardigan.

I don't know the prices but I think less than 350 usd. Do you offer more thant 5 colors to knit?

If you just need the fabric that should not be a problem at all.

I presume you are going to cut and sew from the fabric?

I thoughts this would be of interest to show one of the jumpers we have just knitted on a Kniterate Machine (Shaped edges, not cut and sew)
