Can anyone please help me out, kniterate is unable to respond because they're too busy
I got a machine brand new and its been having issues. Currently when I turn on the machine, it makes clicks but it doesn't do anything else. The screen doesn't turn on. Is there anyone in the los angeles area that can troubleshoot?
There are no in depth wiring diagrams or manuals that detail the workings of the machine. Kniterate has not given me any resources regarding this at all. Any machine that I buy for my shop has an in depth manual and parts list so you can troubleshoot most issues.
I've had this machine for 5 or so months and I haven't gotten it to work or knit one time

Locate your two clump sensors - put them down or loosen them up slighly and rotate until they click.

Tried that. My clump sensors move and rotate 360 and click. What other checks are there?

First thing the machine does is have the screen come on so without that hard to know whats going on.
Gerard-Rubio do you have a diagnostic that they could run on the machine to see why the screen is not starting?

On the left lower front side of machine press and turn clockwise large red button to make sure its not pressed in.

Hi thanks for the follow up. D3VUR , the machine would have no power if the emergency red button is not disabled.
The machine powers up, lights flicker on the carriage, then half of the yarn feeder latches on the top of the carriage goes off. Its difficult to troubleshoot the issue. I don't know how to diagnose it and the manual doesn't help much when it comes to this. Its hard to even isolate the issue.

try moving head and yarn feeders all the way to the right or left - make sure all sensors are in vertical position and try again, do you get anything on LED screen ?

half of the yarn feeder latches on the top of the carriage goes off ?
pull all your yarns through and wrap them around bolt on the left side, make sure nothing is loose and top sensors are not red when you start the machine

There's nothing on the lcd screen, its pitch black.
I've uploaded a video, let me know if there are any specifics you want to see.

First thing noticed - is it in dissembled state ? you need to fully assemble machine and connect all the wires according to manual. Second thing is try closing all the doors/windows(front/back) and make sure all door magnets connect, these are are sensors that will prevent machine from working

It is not disassembled, everything that requires it to function should be connected. I removed the plastic chassis to have better access to troubleshooting
If the doors and windows were an issue the lcd screen would say so, the lcd is not saying anything, its black

ok
Can you put a SD card in with a command.kc file on the card.
Close all the doors, rotate clump sensors till they click in the down position.
Ensure the tension arns on the left are all clickced in (so as not to trigger the yarn sensor), and the tension arms at the top are all clicked down (no red lights)
once the yarn carrier connectors click down on the carriage, try pressing the button on the front once (dont twist).
if all is working (other than then screen), then the machine should start knitting.
Trying to work out if its just the LCD screen .
More than happy to do a video call with you if that helps - search for us on ecoknitware and send us a message (Cant share emails but you should be able to find us)

Hey hows it going, thanks for the follow ups. I had the delta variant so I was KO’d for a bit but I’m fine now.
These are all basic checks that I did previously and have done so recently. I had a knit file the entire time from a sample image i used for the GUI. None of the sensors that I know of are off at the moment.
I’d be happy to do a video call. I did a quick google search but found nothing!

Hi,
Did this issue get solved? First time setting up my machine and all i get when powering on is a “click” and then nothing. No reaction what so ever on the screen or lamps. Seems faulty, any idea?

One for kniterate I guess - maybe something has been dislodged in shipping as it would have been fully tested before shipment .
Is it a single click or multiple clicks?

Hello, I actually did get this resolved, actually pretty recently with the help of gerard.
The eventual culprit is the mainboard had a fuse that ruptured, replacing the mainboard helped. I also was supplied with extra fuses, if you fuse is blown out i can ship you one as i have 2-3. But you'd have to solder them.
It'd be nice to have some kind of manual that details the operations of the kniterate so people that are somewhat technically inclined can trouble shoot. I had no idea the main board was located underneath the chassis next to the emergency stop button.
