Issue making ribs
Hi everyone,
I am a brand new Kniterate user, it's been three weeks. I've been successfully making jacquard and single stitch swatches, but when it comes to making ribs, it doesn't work at all. Full bed ribs work just fine, but 1x1 or 2x2 no. I have tried making the kniterate rib swatch, the kniterate 2x2 rib beanie, I have made my own 1x1rib and 2x2 rib swatches, tried changing the tensions, tried changing the settings such as speed, roller, stitch size.. nothing works.
It knits sucessfully the waste yarn, then after introducing the new yarn it gets messed up, as in the photo below.
Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? Or what else I should try?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Cali Bessa ,
In the screenshot of your swatch, the transfer arrangement after the cast on is incorrect; the transfer before the rear knit must be front-to-rear.
The Kniterate beanie probably hasn't worked because the yarn you are using is not thick enough. You can try a thicker yarn or reduce the stitch size.
The screenshot for the 1x1 Kniterate swatch looks ok, not sure what can be going wrong there… Have you made sure the feeders assigned in the program are correctly threaded and positioned to knit?

Thanks a lot for the tips, I'll test it out today!
So if I reduce the stitch size for the beanie, do I have to reduce the stitch size of its waste and cast on as well?

Cali Bessa only for the rib for now. Try it and see how it goes!

Hi Ariadna!
So here's a feedback!
So reduced the stitch size, it got a lot better but yet at some point of the knitting I would get the same problem:
So I decided to increase the rollers, starting from the moment the yarns are introduced in the waste yarn, and the outcome was perfect.
I also tried doing the same for other swatches, for example, for jacquard and other types of stitches: increasing the rollers in the moment the yarns are introduced in the waste and cast-on seemed to have a very good result. I have no idea why! I've been using Tecram yarn.
Here's a photo:
I don't know if other users had these problems in the beginning, but I hope sharing information might help the newbies like me!
Now I'm struggling to get a neat bind off in my jacquard swatches. Reading the article on the Kniterate blog is helpful, but it's been days the images don't load on the blog. I tried opening with different browsers. So I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to do the two stitch bind off, for example. Is there something wrong or is it my computer?
Thanks a lot for the help!
Cali
