Knitting lace pattern
Hi !
I have been trying to create a new file for Kniterate using a lace pattern originally designed with DK9. I tried to import this DK9 pattern via a Text file, but didn't succeed to get the transfer stiches appear on my Kniterate file.
Anyone has experience with lace knitting ? I am fairly new to the Kniterate software, so really any help will be appreciated !

Hi Alice,
I think you can't do that. The textfile are for shape pattern only. Then you have to add the transfers with the layers or manually in the Kniterate software. For lace at the time I think there are no automatic tranfers for that so you have to think about how you would do it on your knitting machine but with the ribber bed instead of your transfer tools. There is an Then you can just copy/paste your programmatiion where its needed.
There is a class about it right here : Kniterate | The Digital Knitting Machine Knitting lace - Kniterate | The Digital Knitting Machine
Hope it helps!

Hi Maude,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer, it's super helpful. I did read this post about lace knitting before, but couldn't understand how to import a stitch pattern file. So if I'm understanding correctly, there's no way to really import the pattern directly, so I would have to translate/draw all the transfers manually.
Thanks again for your help :)

Hi Alice Dufour ,
That is correct. At this moment, the Kniterate app does not read DAK's lace transfer symbols, but it does read knit (rear ad front), tuck (rear and front) and miss symbols. See the palette below:
So, “transfer lace” patterns need to be created manually in the Kniterate app.
