When you are happy with your design and you are ready to knit you need to check that it's valid for compilation. To do that go to the menu on the right, click on "Actions" and "Validate". If everything is correct there will appear a green banner at the bottom of the screen that says "Valid Pattern".
It might occur that the compiler detects some error that won't let you validate the design. In that case you will need to find out what it is or the app won't let you move forward. The current app version does not always specify what or where the error is, so it's advisable to validate the design regularly during the process to locate possible errors.
Possible error causes:
- Float too long: maximum float distance is 7 stitches. This error can show up when knitting Fairisle patterns with different colors, but not only. Sometimes a yarn carrier parked on the wrong side of the knit can cause a long float too. In that case, adding or deleting a row to place the yarn carrier on the side where we need it can be a solution.
- Transfer symbol in the wrong place: transfers need to be done in a different carriage pass as knits, so a transfer symbol in a knitting row will cause an error.
- Tuck stitch in the wrong place: it's not possible to knit and tuck on the same needle bed in the same carriage pass, so the software will not validate this.
- Tuck stitch in the wrong place (case 2): an unresolved tuck in the opposite needle bed would not be validated either, since it would create a long float.
